This 100% cotton fabric from Turkey is perfect for hand embroidery as it is an even-weave that makes it easier to create uniform stitches.
The cotton is cut in squares to fit different size hoops perfectly.
Fabric sizes :
6 inch hoop - 25 cm x 25 cm
8 inch hoop - 30 cm x 30 cm
10 inch hoop - 35 cm x 35 cm

*this kit is kid friendly but will possibly need some supervision with the basics like tying knots, using scissors and reading instructions. I have given basic guideline in this booklet, but they are free to play around and find what works for them. The needle, thread and pattern has been made suitable for young ones and can be used over and over again (why not let them colour the tracing pattern in as well?!) The pattern is fun and easy and the perfect alternative to media for kids!
Embroidery Needles

How does the sizing of needles work?
The bigger the number of the needle is (for example size 9) the smaller the needle is, the smaller the number of the needle is (for example size 5) the bigger the needle is.
Not sure what size needle to use?
The lighter the weight of the fabric, the smaller the needle should be, the heavier the weight of the fabric the bigger the needle should be.
My suggestion for when choosing a needle size:
Size 9 - 10 is perfect if you’re embroidering with 1 - 2 strands of thread
Size 5 - 8 is perfect if you’re embroidering with 3 - 6 strands
