Online lessons are perfect if you’re unable to join for a workshop, if you’re looking to take up a new hobby (have I mentioned that embroidery is a great past time for when load shedding is in full swing, all you need is a kop lampie and you’re ready to get stitchy!)  or if you’re a bit rusty with embroidery and would like to get back at it.

I can also personalise lessons for ex. if you’re looking to embroider something specific like a wedding/anniversary hoop etc., we can do an online lesson specific for what you’re looking to embroider. 

How do online sessions work? 

Online sessions are done via Zoom. 

A session is 40 min long. 

What’s included in the session? 

The online session pattern is based on a botanical theme, the stitches can be used for any type of embroidery. 

A session will include a botanical pattern that gets emailed to you before the session as well as a stitch guide for that specific pattern. 

Each pattern has around 5-6 stitches and there’s a total of 3 patterns and a total of 15 stitches. 

You’ll also receive a link to exclusive Slow Studio video tutorials for the stitches done in the session, as well as a booklet. 

There will be a few minutes in each session for questions as well as revising any stitches that you’re having trouble with. 

How much is a online session and how does payment work? 

A session is R 120 and R 570 for 5 sessions.

The session must be payed for before taking place, via EFT.

You can pay per session or pay for a few sessions at once.

How many sessions are necessary? 

It all depends on how many stitches you’d like to learn and also the pace that you embroider.

Around 4 - 5 sessions should be sufficient, it also depends on what you’re looking to get out of the sessions. 

What do you need? 

All you need is your phone or laptop and a Zoom account (super simple to set up if you don’t already have one). 

A basic embroidery kit. If you don’t have supplies you’re welcome to purchase one from The Slow Studio

A basic embroidery kit includes the following: 

- 5 Inch wooden embroidery hoop

- 2 x embroidery needles

- DMC embroidery thread (choose 5 x thread colours from online) 

- 2 x needle threader

- Cotton fabric (choose from the colour fabric selection online) 

- Water-erasable pen to trace patterns

This kit is R 250 excluding courier of R 65
